The newly formed Brookings Health System Foundation is pleas
ed to announce Kandace Hartneck as its first Development Officer.
Hartneck will be responsible for managing and coordinating fundraising events for Brookings Health System; planning and carrying out annual campaigns, developing a capital campaign, and coordinating planned giving, among other activities.
"I am looking forward to the Foundation developing along with Brookings Health System and the surrounding communities, and I am very excited about the opportunity to communicate new projects and Brookings Health System health care milestones to the community," said Hartneck.
She added, "I have always enjoyed philanthropy and fundraising both personally and professionally; I believe that seeing how philanthropy can positively affect the lives of others is the greatest accomplishment one can enjoy."
‘We are pleased to welcome Kandace to Brookings Health System. Her passion for helping others along with her strong business and communication skills will support the mission of the Brookings Health System Foundation," said Roger Oberg, president and CEO of Brookings Health System.
Hartneck holds a Juris Doctor from the William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, MN and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota.
She has participated in the Minnesota Justice Foundation--a volunteer law student network--and traveled to Biloxi, MS after Hurricane Katrina to assist in the cleanup and rebuilding process.
Hartneck cites her favorite example of fundraising success, an event she coordinated last year to benefit the Minnesota Hooved Animal Rescue Foundation. With the help of volunteers, she organized an equestrian trail ride in Central Minnesota, which attracted many riders and concluded with a beautiful trail ride and a sizeable donation for the Rescue Foundation.
"The position of Development Officer provides me the opportunity to serve Brookings and its surrounding communities in a meaningful and lasting way," Hartneck adds. "Philanthropic-minded individuals may contact the Foundation office for information on multiple opportunities for giving."
